What to Expect
Solstice Counseling provides tailored intensive and standard outpatient programs in Cherry Hill, Pemberton and Woodbury, NJ, featuring specialized, evidence-based therapies in small groups of 12 or fewer. Led by a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists and licensed counselors, the programs integrate family therapy, medication management, and holistic activities, with most major commercial insurances and Medicaid accepted.
Solstice Counseling provides Substance Use Disorder Treatment though our Intensive and Standard Outpatient Treatment Programs which feature a level of focused care that falls between inpatient and traditional outpatient treatment. Our outpatient sites are conveniently located in Cherry Hill, Pemberton & Woodbury, NJ.

Many patients are referred directly to intensive outpatient programs by their therapists or psychiatrists. You can also seek treatment for yourself or a loved one by calling our Outpatient Admissions team at 1.888.437.1610.
As part of the admission process to the program, all patients meet with a board certified psychiatrist for an assessment of symptoms, strengths, and needs. You will meet at regular intervals with this psychiatrist throughout your treatment. Our outpatient program is made up of a multidisciplinary treatment team made up of Licensed Social Workers, Licensed Professional and Associate Counselors, Licensed Clinical Drug and Alcohol Counselors, and Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselors.
There is no average length of treatment as all treatment is individually tailored to the person but as a reference point our IOP curriculum is 16 weeks and the OP is also 16 weeks.
Our specialized programming is specifically designed to meet the unique developmental, diagnostic, and gender-related needs of each patient. All of our outpatient programs include:
- a comprehensive evaluation by a board certified psychiatrist
- individualized treatment plans
- evidence-based treatment
- group and individual therapy
- medication management
- family therapy
- psychoeducation groups
- expressive therapies like yoga, art, and writing
- typical week includes 3 group sessions
Treatments across our programs are evidence based. This means that findings from the latest research at major academic medical centers and government agencies are regularly reviewed and incorporated into treatment modalities. The outcomes are closely examined to understand what therapies work best for each individual patient, how to reduce symptoms, and how to bring about lasting recovery. Evidence-based programs have been shown to increase engagement and success.
In group therapy, group size is kept to 12 patients or less.
A patient’s psychiatric illness or addiction can impact the entire family. When the family has an understanding of their loved one’s issues and conflicts, they have the power to play a major role in the recovery process. Solstice Counseling & Wellness Centers have long recognized the importance of the family in the healing process, and incorporate family therapy and education into the treatment routine. Our family education program empowers families with information and education, enabling them to better cope during a difficult time. We also refer families to resources available in the community.
Solstice Counseling & Wellness Centers is in network with most commercial insurance plans, accepts Medicaid, and has contracts with various state agencies in New Jersey that provide for the payment of New Jersey residents seeking Substance Use Disorder treatment.
