Medication Management

Medication can be an important part of treatment for many people living with mental health symptoms, substance use concerns, or co-occurring conditions. At Solstice Counseling & Wellness Centers, medication management is provided as part of a broader care plan that may also include counseling, group services, recovery support, and care coordination.

Our goal is to help clients better understand their medications, monitor how treatment is working, and make informed decisions with a qualified provider.

What Medication Management Includes

Medication management is more than simply writing a prescription. It involves a careful review of symptoms, current medications, treatment history, side effects, safety concerns, and the client’s overall goals for care.

Appointments may include medication review, education, symptom monitoring, adjustments when clinically appropriate, and coordination with other members of the treatment team.

Support for Co-Occurring Needs

Many clients come to Solstice with more than one concern, such as anxiety, depression, trauma symptoms, substance use, or challenges related to mood and functioning. Medication management can help support stability while counseling and other services address the behavioral, emotional, and practical parts of recovery.

When medication is appropriate, our team works to ensure it fits within the client’s full treatment plan rather than standing alone.

A Collaborative Approach

Clients are encouraged to ask questions, share concerns, and participate actively in decisions about their care. We believe medication works best when clients understand why it is being considered, what benefits are expected, what side effects to watch for, and how it connects to their larger goals.

Solstice also coordinates with outside providers when appropriate and authorized, including primary care providers, hospitals, referral partners, and other members of a client’s support system.
